Found a cool thing today. The original notes from Liz Kloepfer’s call to King County Detective Randy Hergesheimer in October 1974. When 22-year-old Kerry Hardy-May disappeared from Seattle in June of 1972, at first her family wasn’t too worried. After all, Kerry was young, a free spirit, and in a period of transition after recently separating from her husband. So when she didn’t show up at her family home as planned, they assumed she was busy and would be in touch soon. But despite their desperate searches in the months to follow, Kerry wouldn't be found for almost 40 years. Ted Bundy's mother was the oldest of three sisters. Julia was ten years younger than the prudish Louise, who, like her father, was "very secretive” and difficult to get close to. Julia says with a laugh, "Louise was always held up by my father as a model for us to follow.'' On May 6, 1974, Roberta Kathleen Parks disappeared from the Oregon State University campus. The next year, her skull was found in Washington. In lieu of a grave marker, her grandfather Charles Parks wrote this poignant biography in her memory. On August 21, 1975, Salt Lake County Detective Jerry Thompson met Ted Bundy at 565 First Ave., Apartment #2, where Bundy consented to a search of his upstairs residence. These are excerpts from Det. Thompson’s report: These photos were taken by the Salt Lake City police in the fall of 1975, after they seized Ted Bundy's VW Beetle. In particular, they show the front passenger seat, which his one-time girlfriend Margith Maughan complained would always rock back and forth- "when you rode in it you had to hang on." "I had a feeling this would happen; [back at the jail] when the cook lady came by and served me breakfast, I didn’t get up. I had been telling her for the past few days I was sick and I wasn’t eating breakfast. So she just didn’t serve me any, walked right on by. When they came for lunch at 12:00 they discovered I wasn’t there. By 12:00 that day I think, uh, shoot, I think I’d had three gin and tonics.” Rich Bundy made a short video message to thank all of his kind supporters in the true crime community.
